Special Anti-Crisis SME Guarantee

The Special Anti-Crisis SME Guarantee is an indirect guarantee instrument supporting the obtainment of additional bank funding intended to cover extraordinary financial needs caused by the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.

Further information and detailed conditions for the granting of these guarantees are available from commercial banks that have signed the general conditions and which currently are the Banque et Caisse d’Épargne de l’État, the Banque BCP S.A., the Banque de Luxembourg S.A., the Banque Internationale à Luxembourg S.A. and the Banque Raiffeisen S.C..

Beneficiaries

The Special Anti-Crisis SME Guarantee can be granted to small and medium-sized companies experiencing temporary financial difficulties due to extraordinary financial needs caused directly by the Covid-19 pandemic crisis and fulfilling respective conditions including, among others, the possession of a valid business permit issued by the Ministry of the Economy (pursuant to the Law of 2 September 2011), the qualification as an SME in accordance with European regulations and the availability of a sufficient envelope of de minimis aid (Commission Regulation (EU) No 1407/2013 of 18 December 2013). Eligible costs

Funding covering the extraordinary financial needs caused directly by the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, and not exceeding 2,5 million euros, is eligible for this guarantee instrument.

Guarantee amount

The guarantee can cover up to 80% of the extraordinary financial need up to a maximum amount of one million euros.

Duration

The maximum guarantee duration is three years from the date of granting of the funding by the commercial bank.

Application / Grant

The Special Anti-Crisis SME Guarantee is granted through the commercial bank that subscribed to a global SNCI guarantee envelope and signed the respective general conditions and that is in direct contact with the eligible SME. For more detailed information, the SME must contact directly its commercial bank.

The global guarantee envelope which can be granted by the SNCI amounts to 200 million euros. The guarantee may be granted up to 31.12.2020.
