As a public banking institution governed by its own law, SNCI has been committed for over 45 years to contribute to offer access to finance to Luxembourgish commercial companies, with a focus on SMEs.

SNCI has a mission to contribute to the economic development and diversification of Luxembourg in the general interest.

To fulfil its mission, SNCI grants loans to Luxembourg companies either directly or indirectly through commercial Luxembourg banks. SNCI acquires and manages equity holdings in commercial companies and investment funds of strategic importance for the development and diversification of the Luxembourg economy.

Response policy

The SNCI does not provide all the financing for your business project, but with a view to sharing the risks and in a co-financing approach with the commercial banks, the SNCI aims to ensure an appropriate balance between the different sources of your financing.Overall, SNCI loans and credits cover an average of 40% of investments to be realized by young artisans, shopkeepers, hoteliers, or restaurateurs who want to start their own business in Luxembourg.
