April 30, 2026 – Minister of Finance Gilles Roth, Minister of Defence Yuriko Backes, and Minister of Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism Lex Delles launched the National Defence Fund (NDF), endowed with 150 million euros and implemented by SNCI.
The NDF is structured as a fiduciary agreement between the State of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Intergenerational Sovereign Wealth Fund (FSIL), acting as trustees, and SNCI acting as fiduciary.
This fund aims to finance innovative startups active in defense and dual-use technologies, particularly in cybersecurity and space. It will invest in investment funds as well as in companies, through co-investments alongside eligible funds. The initiative seeks to strengthen the local economy while fulfilling NATO commitments.
