April 30, 2026 - The Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth, the Minister of Defence, Yuriko Backes, and the Minister of Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles, launched the National Defence Fund (NDF), endowed with 150 million euros and implemented by the SNCI.

The National Defence Fund (FND) is structured as a trust agreement between the State of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Intergenerational Sovereign Fund (FSIL), acting as trustees, and the Luxembourg Investment Company (SNCI), acting as trustee.

This fund aims to finance innovative startups active in defence and dual-use technologies, particularly cybersecurity and space. It will invest in investment funds as well as companies, co-investing alongside eligible funds. The initiative seeks to strengthen the local economy while fulfilling NATO commitments.
